Make a Gift
Too many families in our community are struggling with the rising cost of necessities. For these households, a trip to the store can mean making hard choices: Breakfast or electricity. A child’s winter coat or dinner on the table.
Your generosity changes how these households get from day to day.
Your gift today fills shelves and fuels hope in Sharpsburg. Every act of generosity fuels a business model that goes beyond traditional aid to create lasting access to quality, affordable goods in our community.
Your support makes the difference between stores where neighbors can shop for essentials, and stores that provide essential community services. Make a one-time gift online, or set up a recurring payment to provide critical sustaining support for our mission and programs.
If you prefer to pay by check, your payment can be mailed to:

Something good is cooking today at Harvest on Main.
Grandma Flo’s meatballs are always available as a grab-and-go quart (6 in each), but on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they’re served hot and made to order too!
Easy to pick up if you’re passing through and looking for something delicious for lunch or dinner.

A couple months ago, a new neighbor came into the store looking for a few things to help him get back on his feet — a couple button-down shirts for job interviews, and a pair of shoes.
He had lost everything.
Second Harvest was able to set him up with a few shirts, and he bought a pair of shoes.
A few days later, he came back to share that he’d been going on interviews — and that things were starting to turn around. He told us he wouldn’t be where he is today without the help of Second Harvest, and wanted to come back to say thank you in person.
Not long after, in an extraordinary gesture of gratitude, he returned again after rallying his roommates to organize a small clothing and food drive in support of Second Harvest. In a note, he wrote that Second Harvest is “a pillar of light in an otherwise grey world,” and he “always leaves the store feeling brighter.”
Last week, he came in for his first volunteer shift — continuing to show up for this community in the same way it showed up for him.
We’re grateful to be a part of this community — where generosity ripples outward 💓
Here’s a small look at what’s on the floor at Second Harvest this week.
Quality secondhand clothing, a few ceramic pieces, kids’ toys, swimsuits, and some solid everyday shoes. Just well-kept items, ready for a second home.
If you’re nearby, feel free to stop in and take a look.
