The Community Free Fridge at Second Harvest exists for moments when neighbors need help putting food on the table today.
A senior facing a higher-than-expected utility bill. A parent trying to make groceries last until payday. A neighbor navigating an unexpected setback.
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Community Free Fridge provides free access to fresh food, prepared meals, pantry staples, and other essentials—no registration required.
But the fridge doesn’t stay full on its own.
It relies on neighbors who stock it, care for it, and help keep it ready for the next person who needs it.
That’s why we created The Community Full Fridge Relay 💨
Week by week, groups across our community are helping keep the fridge stocked, cleaned, and cared for—ensuring this resource remains available when neighbors need it most.
💚Adopt a week. Fill the fridge. Pass it on.💚

On Monday, Pittsburgh’s public pools open, and we couldn’t be happier about it. ☀️
Whether you’re headed to Highland Park, Schenley, or your neighborhood favorite, we’ve got plenty of secondhand finds to help you make a day of it. Swimsuits, sun hats, pool totes, and other warm-weather essentials are waiting to be discovered.
You never know what you’ll find, but there’s a good chance it’s exactly what you need. Swing by before your first trip to the pool and see what catches your eye.

Have you tried Uncle Tony`s Bean Salad?
Bonnie and her family have been making it for years on their family vacations. It`s one of those recipes that always finds its way onto the table - good on its own, tossed on a salad, or served alongside just about anything.
Nutritious, filling, and full of good memories. Now it`s part of the regular lineup here, too.
Stop by and give it a try.

Corey Ochi knows where to find a good lunch.
A Sharpsburg councilperson, artist, neighbor, husband, and dad. Corey’s art studio is just down the street on North Canal. When it’s time for a break, he walks over to Harvest on Main for his usual: Chicken Thighs with Thai Rice.
When we dreamed about bringing fresh, affordable food back to Sharpsburg, this is what we meant — neighbors being able to walk down the street and find a meal they enjoy.
Fresh, flavorful, and just down the street.
